The ADAC consortium actively encourages software vendors and consultants to consider developing ADAC-compliant tools for the benefit of their clients. The decision to discontinue development of the V3 CAD tool was deliberately taken to open the market to more sophisticated solutions. This section provides a brief summary of various stages of development. if you are a vendor and interested in participating or would like to update these details, please contact us.

12d Solutions has been involved with ADAC-XML since its inception, with the goal of integrating the ADAC process into the normal 12d Model work flow – covering the full cycle from Design=>Construction=>As-Built=>Future Design.
This work flow integration is crucial to achieve the full benefits from ADAC otherwise ADAC becomes little more than a manual data collection exercise, performed at extra expense, after the as-built surveys are done.
Because 12d Model is a 3d parametric object based system, most of the ADAC data is part of standard 12d objects such as pits, pipes, surfaces and design strings, and their associated meta data.
For future design work, existing ADAC data can be read in by 12d Model and used to automatically construct 3d models for all the existing data.
Once a new design is finalised, 12d Model can write out ADAC data for a Council to use, or to pass on as electronic data to the Construction Company.
In the field, 12d Model can be used to setout the design, and also collect the as-constructed data for conformance checks and to produce the final ADAC XML files to be submitted to Council.
Benefits of 12d Model-ADAC include:

In addition the ADAC consortium councils have developed a number of in-house products including asset import/ validation tools, an XML browsing and editing tools and so on. These are made freely available to consortium members.
Councils are typically not in a position to provide technical support or any form of warranty but will provide general advice. The consortium plans to develop a series of instructional videos for these tools.

The ADAC V3 Schema was updated in October 2010 to the new version V4. Over the past twelve months V4 has progressed greatly and is now fully robust. Translation tools are no longer supplied by council but are now provided by third party companies.
Please go to the Downloads section of the website to get the latest schema and associated documentation or to the Affiliated software vendors page for any authoring tools.
